Protests

Growing up, my parents were wary of me voicing “controversial” opinions or attending protests as many of their loved ones were killed because they spoke up in Ethiopia. I internalized their fear but eventually used the camera as a distraction, taking photos to support causes I care about in order to raise awareness and document society’s history.
